Day Nine: Lemons

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That's what they say, right? When something goes sour, make it sweet. Except when someone spouts that saying in the middle of a crisis, when I'm tearing my hair out, clearly unprepared for such adversity, my instinct is to punch them squarely in the face. Despite that quite aggressive urge, trying to make the best out of a bad situation is something I feel we must strive to do and something I, personally, need to plan better for when tough moments arise.

We never know when something bad is about to happen so it's hard to be prepared for when it does but whilst we can't always be in control of certain events, we are in control of ourselves. Simple things such as looking after ourselves, getting decent sleep, eating well, drinking more, it all means we're so much better equipped when things start to go topsy-turvy.

I feel like my next few blogs are going to be very Disney centric. When I'm here, I'm so immersed in happiness, hope and everyone's innate need to be kind, my cup of inspiration is filled to the brim, so this is just prior warning buuuuuttt....

Today when watching the firework display in Walt DisneyWorld's Magic Kingdom, there was a little Mulan section in which the emperor says "The flower that blooms in adversity, is the most rare and beautiful of them all". It's incredibly hard to keep a level head, to not explode in an argument, to not melt into a puddle on the floor in confrontation, to be stuck in a sticky patch and not hide under your bed until it all blows over but we're all capable. We are all capable of standing tall and proud and taking each blow as it comes, we can all get back up again each time you hit the floor, and we can all make lemonade out of lemons.

  1. This is just what the world needs more! Thank you for sharing and thank youuuu because since I started following your thoughts and the way you see life it made me realize that I’ve been hiding all this time, covered by the “live in the reality” blanket, afraid of being my truly self, goofy, happy, hopefull, a Disney lover! And that it is okey! It is okey to be proud of what you love and embrace it with all your heart! And not be ashamed of it at all!!! You might think this is nuts but in a very strange way I felt like this not only because we have similar tastes in life, but because i saw myself in you or at list part of it , and seeing how proud you are to share this to the world.. just with a small text or a video, you had the power of awakening me ( a complete extranger) and many others I bet! Thank you for that, from the bottom of my soul Marina, from the other end of the world .. Argentina
